The Health and Wellbeing event held by Beechfield Medical Centre’s Patient Participation Group (PPG) on Saturday 18th June in the town centre was a huge success! The team saw almost 100 members of the public, and shared their event with local health and wellbeing services all of whom shared valuable information about local services to the visitors on the day.
Due to the disappointing weather forecast the event which was originally planned to take place in the market place, was hurriedly moved inside to the South Holland Centre with the help of volunteers from the Centre.
The event included a health check station where people could have their blood pressure, height & weight measured and receive personalised lifestyle advice based on these readings from clinical staff Beechfield Medical Centre who had kindly volunteered their Saturday morning to attend the event. They also have a dedicated Men’s Health & Women’s Health stand, both run by clinicians from Beechfield Medical Centre also, providing information, support and guidance for individuals attending. Other services in attendance included the Friends of the Johnson Community Hospital, the Neighbourhood Team, Lincolnshire Community & Voluntary Service, One You Lincolnshire and colleagues from Munro Medical Centre and Gosberton Medical Centre Patient Participation Groups.
Feedback on the day from everyone who attended the event, both exhibitors and members of the public, was incredibly positive and Beechfield Medical Centre and their Patient Participation Group wish to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone involved, and hope to hold more similar events in the future in order to support the local community and showcase the wonderful complimentary services that are on offer.
If you are a registered patient of Beechfield Medical Centre and would like to be involved in the next event, please visit the PPG website at www.beechfieldppg.co.uk for information on their next meeting.
