Why
From April 2016, it has been a contractual requirement for all English practices to form a patient participation group (PPG) during the year ahead and to make reasonable efforts for this to be representative of the practice population.
The group’s primary role is to champion patient perception. It acts within the following framework:
1 – To act as the representative voice of the patients.
2 – To assist in the promotion of better healthcare and treatment.
3 – To help the practice enhance service delivery.
4 – To develop the influence of the PPG through good practice.
